Children's Occupational Therapy
"Play is the highest form of research." - Albert Einstein
Children's Occupational Therapy is a specialised branch of occupational therapy that focuses on helping children and young people achieve their full potential in everyday activities and life roles. We work with children from infants to adolescents, addressing physical and sensory challenges.
Through play, children explore, learn, and develop essential skills that lay the foundation for their future success. Occupational therapy for children centres around the idea that meaningful play and activities are vital for a child's growth and development.

Making a difference to children's lives
Children's occupational therapy enables children to engage fully in their daily activities, play, and learning. It recognises the unique needs of each child and strives to remove barriers that may limit their potential.
It's about...
Promoting Independence
We work with children to develop skills needed for daily activities, such as dressing, feeding, and self-care thus empowering children to become as independent as possible.
Enhancing Fine and Gross Motor Skills (through age-appropriate play)
We help children improve their gross and fine motor skills, including hand-eye coordination, handwriting and the ability to manipulate objects with precision.
Sensory Processing
For children who struggle with sensory processing, we provide strategies to help them better understand and manage sensory input, contributing to improved focus and self-regulation.
Retained Primitive Reflexes
Some children continue to exhibit primitive reflexes—which are automatic responses present in early infancy that typically fade as the brain matures. When these persist, they can interfere with a child’s motor skills, balance, attention, and learning. Occupational therapy gently supports the integration of these reflexes through targeted movement-based interventions, helping the child progress to more advanced functional skills.
School-Based Support
In school settings we work collaboratively with educators to ensure that children have the necessary support, strategies, accommodations and adaptations to succeed academically.
Adaptive Equipment and Modifications
When required we assess the need for adaptive equipment, home modifications or assistive technology to facilitate a child's participation in daily activities.
